Pioneer operates from Brightlingsea in Essex on the river Colne, usual voyage areas include, Blackwater, Crouch, Roach, Thames Estuary, Stour, Orwell and the Kent Coast.  The Pioneer Sailing Trust is soon to open its Marine Skills Centre, this will offer boat-building apprenticeships and short term vocational courses in Marine Skills.
